Meet Kerri Gray Moffatt

BI Strategist & Microsoft Certified Trainer

Kerri started her career in Excel, building reports and forecasts as a market analyst for Cadbury Schweppes and Volvo Group. When Power BI arrived, she adopted it from the start. Over 12 years at Komatsu Australia she grew from in-business analyst to BI & Governance Lead, building and maturing the enterprise analytics platform through to a Microsoft Fabric migration that began in private preview.

Along the way, she learned that technology is rarely what holds organisations back. At Komatsu she developed the BI governance framework, created a Data, Analytics & AI Centre of Excellence, and trained and mentored developers and report consumers across the business. The platforms that lasted were the ones the business understood, trusted and owned.

More recently, in independent contract roles, Kerri has helped organisations stabilise and govern inherited BI environments. That includes a governance and capability uplift across Power BI and Power Platform for South32, and stabilising the reporting for a high-profile Queensland Department of Justice pilot. In both, the goal was the same: leave the organisation able to run its environment confidently without her. She founded Data Symbiosis to bring that approach to more organisations.

Data, people and process aren't separate disciplines. Each depends on the others, and BI only works when all three grow together. That's the thinking behind the name, and behind every engagement: collaboration, competency and culture.
